These 4 images are from i course i took the other night on portrait photography. Lets just say i wasn't happy. I didn't learn a damn thing i didn't already know. It was billed as an advanced portrait course using studio lights... the instructor spent the first 20 minutes explaining iso to one of the "advanced" students.

Just goes to show people, if you look for something on Flickr or youtube you can learn just about anything from the comfort of your own chair...

Take care

Jordan And His Boo Boo

So last monday evening, i get a call from my exmother-in-law that i should get my ass to the hospital. When i arrive, i find out that my youngest son, Jordan, has been kicked in the face by a horese. Yes a horse. He is only 4 years old, so i was prepared for the worst. When i saw him his eye was black and swollen, and he was obviously not happy.

Fergus hospital, proceeded to get him xrayed and give us the results. Nothings broken, but they were worried about the pressure behind his eye. They decided to send us to Mcmaster hospital in Hamilton. My ex loaded up with him while i went home and checked up on our other two sons. She made it from Fergus to Hamilton in 35 minutes.... a record.

Once they arrived, it was decided that he need a cat scan, after which we learned that his face was broken.... smashed really. The cheek bone on his left side was broke in 4 different places but his eye was ok. Thanks Fergus.... We had to wait all week for the swelling to go down, and once the surgeon confirmed it was ready to operate on we were put on the list. This was Thursday. We finally made it into surgery sunday morning... it was a long wait, but all you have to do is walk around this hospital to realize how good you have it. This is one situation that you dont mind getting bumped from the schedule...

A couple pics...

This was taken Thursday... 3 full days after it happened

This is Friday

And this is Saturday before the operation.... i dont know what made me happier, the little smile or the fact he got his eye open and could see.

Id like to thank Mcmaster for the awesome awesome facilities and staff, this place is top notch there is no doubt

Take care, see ya soon
So after a bit of thought i've decides to give this blogging thing a go (Thanks Chris)...
This is the first post but really its just a test to see if i like the layout... stay tuned
